This amazing team of nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, medical students, and loving volunteers saw 85 children and 117 adults in our clinics in San Andrés Ceballos, and another 125 children in La Plazuela.
In partnership with Backpacks of Dreams, we distributed over 267 backpacks (filled with supplies) to the children in Santiago de Zamora and La Plazuela.
We also donated and installed 18 woodstoves for families. We climbed an active volcano, climbed the Cerro del Cruz, participated in a chocolate cooking class, ate tons of delicious food, and shopped, shopped, shopped. This team could not be stopped.
Twenty-one students from the Westminister Academy Pre-Med Club, accompanied by their teachers and administrators, went with NCP to provide wellness screenings and health promotion for 650 children in the San Pedro Yepocapa school and 150 students in the school in Santiago de Zamora. They also installed 22 woodstoves for families, hiked up a volcano, hiked up to the Cerro del Cruz, and learned how to make chocolate bars. They also donated many backpacks, school supplies, toothbrushes, and toothpastes to the schools. It was a wonderful experience for all.
A group of 12 wonderful nurses and caring people held clinics at the San Luisito and San Lorenzo el Tejar schools, screening almost 300 school aged children. The team visited the women's co-op at Zamora and donated and installed 13 woodstoves for families. They also went zip lining, hiked up to Cerro Del Cruz, and took a chocolate cooking class.
